PreK Mission Statement
The goal of the Summers County Pre-K program and its curriculum is for the children to get along with others and to become enthusiastic self-motivated learners. It is our mission that preschool children will become independent, self-confident, curious learners who can work well with others. We want to teach them how to learn, not just in preschool, but also all through their lives. This will be accomplished by creating purposeful and productive play experiences that help children grow in all areas. Our curriculum will identify four key areas of development: social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language. Through activities we plan, the way we organize the classroom, select materials and toys, and interact with children we will work toward our goal. This will give children a successful start in school, preparing them to be self-directed, life long learners.
