Summers County School of Practical Nursing

The program is a 12-month course accredited by the West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses.

Classes begin on the 1st Monday in October and end the following September.  Class sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.  Clinical times are 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  Class & clinical sessions are Monday through Friday.

Twenty-two students are accepted into the program each year. All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, three letters of reference, score above 40th percentile on the National League for Nursing pre-entrance test and be interviewed by the faculty to be considered for admission.  Selection is based on points given for categories including pre-entrance test scores and background education experience in the health care field.
